Council meetings
Start with Southwark’s meeting calendar. Check the meeting page for its venue, agenda, papers, and any attendance arrangements. Most decision-making meetings are open to the public, although some business may be considered in private. Some meetings are streamed or archived. Southwark’s meeting guidance.
The council asks people wishing to attend council or committee meetings to contact constitutional.team@southwark.gov.uk. For scrutiny meetings, use scrutinyteam2@southwark.gov.uk. The same guidance explains public questions, petitions, and deputations. Check the relevant procedure and submission deadline before preparing a contribution.
Reading meeting papers
An agenda lists the business to be considered. Reports explain proposals or provide updates. Minutes record the decisions made. Read the report with the resulting minutes rather than assuming a recommendation was adopted. Southwark’s explanation of meeting records.
Council meetings and estate association meetings are different records. This archive will identify which body met, the date, and the source of any published account. There are currently no reviewed estate meeting records listed here.
